• PDF and Word reports, plus the original spreadsheet returned with highlighted cells and threaded comments
• In-memory processing only: no disk writes, no server-side copies of findings, commercial API tier with no training rights on customer data
• A public trust page listing ten commitments, each independently checkable

Why it stopped

The product worked. The distribution didn't. Selling into quality departments at Tier-2 and Tier-3 suppliers runs on existing relationships and procurement cycles measured in quarters — the waitlist collected interest but never converted into a beta cohort putting real files through it. That's a go-to-market problem a solo studio can't out-build, and continuing to ship features against it would have been avoiding the actual issue.

Current status

The site stays online as a record of what was built. It is no longer maintained and the waitlist is not being worked.

What shipped

• Roughly 1,900 herbs, formulas, and concepts, with 6,882 citations across thirteen classical and modern sources
• Chinese and English side by side, with traditional context preserved rather than flattened into a summary
• Classical record and modern evidence shown together without forcing a verdict — cinnabar recorded as non-toxic in the Bencao Gangmu sits next to its identification as mercuric sulfide, and the reader decides
• Stable identifiers built for teaching and citation, with no account and no paywall

Why it stopped

The archive reached the state it was meant to reach, and there was no honest business on the other side of it. The value of the thing was that it stayed free and citable, which rules out most of the ways it could have paid for itself. Rather than compromise that to manufacture a revenue line, we finished the content and stopped.

Current status

Permanently online, free, and complete. Nothing will change from here — which for a reference people cite is a feature, not neglect.
